Once a bad girl, always a bad girl - that was her motto, and she lived it in the very best way.. But, don't let her motto fool you. She was a God fearing woman who loved Jesus! This legend was born in Macon GA, graduating from Miller High School, marrying Maurice Jones, and moving to Savannah where they raised two sons and three grandchildren.
Zoe passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 2, 2023, and because of her faith, went to be with Jesus for eternity.
As a young woman, she loved sun worshiping, and dancing, St Simons Island, Daytona Beach, and Lakeside Park in Macon. She liked Coca-Cola, cigarettes, and handsome men, also Jimmy Buffett music (particularly "Pencil Thin Mustache") . Her natural habitat was Las Vegas, visiting the slot machines. Zoe is now playing slot machines in heaven with her sister Fay, and her daughter-in-laws Fran and Robin. She was known for her very best Southern accent, and her pecan pie was the absolute best. She lovingly ended her phone calls to grandchildren and family by saying "Love you, Sugah". Her stories about past experiences made everyone cackle. She leaves this earth with no regrets except for not marrying Gerard Butler.
Zoe is survived by two sons, William "Bo" Shuptrine, and Steven "Steve" Shuptrine, both of Savannah; grandchildren, Mary Zoe Shuptrine, Crystal Hedgecoth (Adam), Steven Shuptrine; and her great grandchildren, Zoey and Ashton Howard.
There were many other loving family members, friends, neighbors, fellow church workers, co-workers, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Each and every one were loved and appreciated by Zoe.
The family will be receiving friends 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. after visitation.
