William Wright (Billy) Mills age 75, died Tuesday afternoon at Oceanside Nursing Home on Tybee Island.
Memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 30, 2011 at Hillcrest Abbey East with Marty McKenzie officiating.
Billy was born in Soperton, GA on September 20, 1936 to the late Herman Evans Mills and Kate Thigpen Mills. He was the General Manager of Backus Cadillac in Savannah for 23 years and was a former member of Solomon's Lodge number 1, F&AM and also served in the Army National Guard's and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Commercial High School, member of the Cobra Club and one of the original Beach Bums. He was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Tony Mills; a sister Margret Mills.
Survivors include his two daughters, Tanya Mills Evans of Jacksonville, FL and Wendy Mills of Savannah; grandchildren, Bryan Lewis and wife Christa, Dustin Bunker, Sarah Lewis Evans, Hannah Evans; great-grandchildren, Lily Lewis, Emsley and Paisley Sammons; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Mills and wife Cheri of Savannah and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends Friday, December 30, 2011 from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
