William Kenworthy Wall “Bill”, age 85, died peacefully at home on January 8th, 2025. Bill was born in Savannah, GA, on November 13, 1939, to the late Ellen Kenworthy Wall and William Jeptha Wall. He grew up on Whitemarsh Island, where he spent much of his youth fishing and boating on Richardson Creek. Bill graduated from Savannah High School in 1957 and later attended Armstrong College, where he studied accounting. He served in the Army National Guard for 8 years, and shortly thereafter began his career at Union Camp, where he worked for 30 years as an accountant at the bag plant. He then retired and enjoyed his well-earned rest on Burnside Island.
A dedicated member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church on the Isle of Hope, Bill was an usher and a communicant for many years. He also cherished his Wednesday morning coffee gatherings with his men’s group from church.
Bill is survived by his devoted and loving wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Beth Wall. He is predeceased by his sister, Susanne W. Cameron (John). Bill is also survived by his nephew, Charles Cameron (Mary) of Cumming, GA; nieces Christa Cameron and Laura C. Harrison (Ryan) of Roswell, GA; Diane Wesley (Rick) of Savannah; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry & Angie Reynolds of Pembroke, GA; several great-nephews and nieces; and lifelong friends Marion Kennickell and Al Hinson.
A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church on Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
Inurnment will follow in St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.
A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church.
