William W. “Bill” Snider, age 90, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at home.
Mr. Snider was born on September 24, 1931 in Salem, WV, the son of the late John Albert and Lillie May Stutler Snider. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service. He also served in civil service at Hunter Army Airfield, retiring after 22 years as a Post Engineer. Bill was a member of Zerubbabel Lodge #15, F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite Consistory – Valley of Savannah, the Alee Shrine where he was Past President of the Flag Unit, and Palestine Chapter No. 249, Order of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed western movies, going to the beach, as well as fishing and crabbing.
Mr. Snider was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Hendrix Snider. He is survived by his children, Theresa Ann Vigrass, William W. Snider, Jr. (Debra), and Peggy Lynn Bacot (Roger); sister, Mary J. White; grandchildren, Johnathan, Christopher (Sarah), and Jennifer; and great grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Emily, and Hannah.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery with military honors and Masonic Rites.
