William Parker Davis, 78, went home to be with Jesus, October 29, 2017 after a long courageous battle with kidney disease.
He was the son of the late George A. and Flarie Davis. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Parker was born in Savannah where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1957. He served in the Georgia Air National Guard in the 165th Air Squadron. After graduating high school he worked in the family business, Davis Heating and Air. He later worked and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace after 25 years. He was an active member and deacon at Bull Street Baptist Church. He later became a member of Ferguson Avenue Baptist Church, where he attended till his death. He was a member of the Gulfstream Retirees Club and the Cobra Club. Parker was an avid coin collector, pet lover, constant jokester and core of the family.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette L. Davis of Savannah; son Paul and Kelly Bright of Blairsville Ga., son, Brian and Stephanie Davis of Savannah, Ga, daughter, Tricia and Stephen Mock of Lynchburg, Virginia; daughter Laura and Paul Teague of Savannah, Ga. He had 14 grandchildren, Will and Becca Bright, Joy, Hope and Luke Bright; Jacob, Austin, Rachel and Maylon Mock; Ellie, Benjamin, Cole and Paulson Teague, Barrett and Guerin Davis. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra and Ray Thomas, and nephews Chris and Jeff Thomas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.Funeral Services: will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with interment to follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
