William Randall “Randy” Maddox, 65, transitioned from his temporary home on earth to eternity with his Lord and Savior on October 29, 2020.
Mr. Maddox was born to William Paul Maddox, Sr. and Stella Cole Maddox on May 29, 1955 in LaGrange, GA. He is preceded to heaven by his mother and father; brother, William Paul Maddox, Jr.; and sister, Peggy Joyce Maddox. He is survived by his sister, June; and many cousins.
Randy was a loving, kind and gentle soul. He loved to read and work crossword puzzles. He loved history and learning. He loved to learn. He received his degree from Armstrong State College in History. He worked at the Savannah Public Library and Waldenbooks for many years until he was no longer able to work. He was one of the most intelligent people that God created. Anyone that had the privilege to know him loved him.
He was a member of Taliaferro Baptist Church and an adopted member of Chapel-by-the-Sea Baptist Church.
A special thank you to Michelle Thomas and Nicole Stoney for being the angels that God placed in Randy’s life. They were always ready to help him with anything.
You gave no one a last farewell,
Nor even said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
A million times I will miss you
A million times I will cry
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have left
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still.
In my heart you will always hold a place
That no one else can fill
It broke my heart to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
You took a part of all of us with you
That moment when God took you home.
We will meet again some day
I know that will be a day
For you are in a better place
No pain or suffering
I thank God He made you my brother
For a little while here on earth.
Thankful you are not alone anymore and with the family.
A funeral service will be held at a later date and will be announced by Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
