William H. "Bill" Soeffner, 87, of Savannah, Georgia went to be with his Lord on October 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bertha, Minnesota on December 4, 1929, the youngest of twelve children of Jacob and Ida Soeffner. In 1950, as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, Bill was stationed at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah. He chose Savannah as his home after he met the love of his life, Marian Thomas, at a youth for Christ event. They were married in May 1953 and enjoyed 26 years together until Marian passed away in 1979. Bill retired from Western Auto after managing stores on Broughton Street and Garden City. He then worked for 20 more years at Advanced Auto. Bill loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him by sharing God's word to everyone he met. He was a member of New Life Fellowship of Savannah, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was an elder.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Jackson and two sons, David Soeffner and his wife, Marcey and Christopher Soeffner; four grandchildren, Caroline Jackson, Grace Jackson, Aaron Soeffner, Josh Soeffner and his wife, Mandy and two great-grandchildren, Elias and Brody Soeffner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: New Life Fellowship of Savannah:Great Commission Fund, 12915 White Bluff Road, Savannah, GA 31419 or to the Christian Missionary Alliance.

Visitation: 11:00am -12:00pm, Friday, October 13, 2017  at New Life Fellowship on White Bluff Road, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
