William Glenn Thomasson
Savannah, Georgia
1939 - 2021
With a heavy heart, we mourn the loss of this tremendous man. After courageously battling long term illness, he lost his fight on March 30th. He was in hospice care at home and passed peacefully surrounded by his children. If you were fortunate enough to know him, you should feel privileged, honored, and lucky to be graced by the kindness of this great man.
He had a strict set of rules to live life by. Amongst those, hard work, integrity, providing and caring for family, respect, and faith in God and one's self, He was an Honorable Veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service and Lead Technician for Canon/3M, till his retirement. Many years were spent as a Boy Scout leader and he had an overwhelming respect for nature and the simple beauty of its bounty. He loved family camping trips, gardening, and spending time outdoors. In his later years, he found a true passion in wood working and caring for the grounds of The Wesley Gardens Property. He spent hours, days, and years clearing, cutting, and beautifying areas to be enjoyed by church members and guests for generations to come. With pride he loved what he did and did what he loved.
Survived by his son, David and wife Sheila; daughter and caretaker, Jennifer Baker; and grandchildren, Ella Grace Sines-Thomasson and Michael Cooler. Also, the favorite Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded by his wife, Cassandra; and his sisters, Carolyn Dial and Betsy Karickhoff. He felt truly blessed to have all of them in his life.
Memorial services to be held at Wesley Monumental Methodist Church on Monday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Wesley Gardens Fund will be welcomed and appreciated by his family. We cherished his life and will love him eternally.
