William “Gene” Eugene Bethune, Jr., 67, of Tar Heel, North Carolina, passed away April 28, 2021.
Gene was born in Augusta, Georgia on November 21, 1953. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He loved to go fishing, play his guitar and listen to Willie Nelson.
He is survived by his parents, William Sr. and Bertie Bethune of Kennesaw, Georgia, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brad and Tammy Quackenbush of Rincon, Georgia, John and Tammy Bethune of Madison Heights, Virginia, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail McDaniel of Sylvania, Margerite and Joe Prevatte of Tar Heel, North Carolina, Shelby and Tom Cadwallader of Kennesaw, Georgia, a step son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Casey Scheidt of Guyton, Georgia, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial Service to be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Pooler Bible Church, 1204 US-80 West, Pooler, Georgia 31322 with Pastor Tommy East officiating.
