David was born on October 12, 1954 in Savannah, Georgia, the son of the late Sanders J. King, Jr. and the late Marcia P. King. He was a graduate of Benedictine Military School and was a veteran of the Air National Guard where he served as a medic. He continued his formal education at Armstrong State College in the evenings while serving with the Savannah Police Department. Following his time in law enforcement he began working with Southern Bell, later BellSouth, and ultimately retired from AT&T after many years of service. He was active with the Coastal Georgia Men's Tres Dias and with the Band of Brothers.
David had a big heart and he loved people. He always had a story to tell. David loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He always made sure Jackie knew that he loved her with all of his heart. He loved his Nicki and Little Bit. He loved his Pastor Johnny and his church family and friends who were very special to him. David knew a lot of people who were very special to him, too many to mention by name, but you will know in your heart who you are.
David is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jackie King; and brothers, Robert Dennis King (Jan) and Richard Daniel King (Charlene).
