William “Butch” Oliver Boaen, Jr., 59, of Garden City, Georgia, passed away May 23, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was born November 28, 1963 in Savannah, Georgia to William Oliver Boaen, Sr. and Mildred Dawn Garris Boaen.
Butch was educated in the Chatham County School system. After graduation, he attended trade school, and eventually started his own construction business, specializing in building car washes. He was a hard working man and moved at his own pace to the beat of his own drum.
When not working, Butch enjoyed time with his family, whom he loved with all his heart. He was a giving, caring, funny and generous person who loved people tremendously. He loved to be near the water, whether lying on the beach, or fishing with his son, Cody and his brother, Jerry. He was known as Uncle Goody to his nieces and nephews, always entertaining them with his jokes and stories. Perhaps his greatest joy was marrying his high school sweetheart, Denise Lee Boaen, after reconnecting with her 33 years later.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Haley Boaen.
Surviving are his loving wife, Denise Lee Boaen; son, Cody Lee (Britteney); parents, William Oliver Boaen, Sr. and Mildred Dawn Garris Boaen; brother, Jerry Boaen, Sr. (Pam); father and mother-in-law, Bo and Mary Lee; five nieces, two nephews, five great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be held Friday May 26, 2023 from 12:30-2:30pm at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Friday May 26, 2023 at 3pm at Gravel Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jay Murray officiating.
