William Albert Anderson

William Albert "Bill" Anderson, age 61, of Savannah passed away Sunday, February 19. 2023.

Mr. Anderson was born July 16, 1961 in Savannah to the late James Miller Anderson, Jr. and Annamae Zierer Anderson. He is a graduate of St. James Catholic School, Benedictine Military School, and Armstrong State College. He was self-employed in the data processing/direct mail marketing industry and was an entrepreneur. He was successful in BBQ cooking competitions and loved mentoring his fellow BBQ cooks. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, the church he grew up in, and participated in the Men’s Club and as an usher at the 11:30AM Sunday Mass.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Anderson Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Annamae Z. Anderson; daughter, Julie Ann Anderson; sister, Joanne Marie Wainwright (husband, Victor); nephew, Victor L. Wainwright Jr.; niece, Stephanie Wainwright; brother, James “Jamie” Miller Anderson III (wife, Lauren); niece, Jessica A. Anderson (Eli Johnson); grandniece, Eilan Johnson; nephew, James M. Anderson IV (wife, Sarah); brother, John Allen Anderson, niece Sarah Anderson; sister Laura Lee Sweat (husband, Lee).

Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406) followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church (8412 Whitefield Avenue Savannah, GA 31406).

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
