Wendell Lee Green, born on March 1, 1941, in Brownfield, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia. He is remembered as a devoted family man and a kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many.
Wendell spent his career at General Motors as a robotic engineer, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and associates. After retiring, he embraced his love for gardening, yard work, and spending serene moments on his porch with a book and a strong cup of black coffee.
Wendell cherished his family above all else, enjoying warm gatherings filled with laughter and love. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Green, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, as well as his children, Amy Gorham and Andrew Green (Sarah). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Chadwick Wilson (Kate), Phillip Gorham (Brandy), and Emylee Parsh, who will always carry fond memories of their time with him.
In addition to his family, Wendell had a special bond with his dog Avery and found joy in simple pleasures—like a dinner of steak and potatoes followed by a slice of warm pound cake. He loved to unwind with his favorite TV shows, including "Law and Order" and "Survivor," and was an enthusiastic fan of football. His favorite treat was a vanilla milkshake, a small indulgence that brought him great joy.
Wendell was known for his friendliness and generosity; he would give anything he had to help others. He is also remembered for his love for his extended family, including Maria and Justin Howell and their children, Isabel, Sofia, Maya, and Angelina, along with Traci Petway.
Above all, Wendell's favorite place was wherever his family was, reflecting his deep affection and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Family and friends will come together in Atlanta to celebrate Wendell’s life in a small gathering at a later date.
