Minnie Wauwese Woodward, a cherished resident of Brooklet, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, at the age of 91 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born on Monday, December 12th, 1932, in Pembroke, Georgia, she spent her life devoted to God, her family and community.
Wauwese was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Newman and Minnie Mae Ballard Newman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Norman Franklin Woodward; a daughter, Joy Lee Butler, and the father of her children, Carl Lee Schuman.
Surviving are a son, Carl Schuman Jr. (Renate) of Pembroke, GA; daughters, Patti Saxon (Richard) of Guyton, GA, Tina Walker (Allen) of Millen, GA and Judy Nunn (Keith) of Guyton, GA; nine grandchildren; as well as numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Wauwese embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to God and to her family ensured that her home was always filled with warmth, love, and laughter. She navigated the trials and triumphs of life with grace and compassion, serving as a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Her wisdom and advice was invaluable to many. She was known for her generous and loving nature and her ability to touch the lives of all who crossed her path. She never met a stranger.
Visitation for Wauwese will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia on Friday, November 29th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects to a truly remarkable woman.
A funeral service celebrating Wauwese’s life will follow at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Harville Baptist Church Cemetery, joining those who have preceded her in eternal peace.
Pallbearers are Danny Deloach, Kyzer Deloach, Travis Deloach, Frankie Moore, Drake Bailey and Jake Pevey.
