Wauweese Jenkins Quattlebaum

Wauweese Jenkins Quattlebaum, 88, of Garden City passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Pruitt Heath of Savannah.
A native of Bulloch County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Jenkins and the late Polly Todd Jenkins. She was a 1948 graduate of Nevils High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class and also had perfect attendance from Kindergarten through High School. She loved basketball and was Captain of the team in High School and enjoyed coaching Softball for the Garden City Recreation Department.
Wauweese was a long time member of Garden City First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lydian Sunday School Class and taught Kindergarten when the church had a school. She had worked in the administration office at Telfair Hospital and retired from the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers in 1989 after her retirement she worked at Mercer Middle School.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, William Harold "Gabby" Quattlebaum; brothers, Norman and Roger "Buck" Jenkins; sister, Cathlyn Miles.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Pat Quattlebaum, Roger and Cathy Quattlebaum; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ricky White; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Sadie Jenkins.
The family will gather at First Baptist Church Garden City, Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm the Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 pm in the Church Sanctuary, followed with burial in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Hightower's office and staff; Dr. Jennifer Yeh's office and staff; Memorial Medical Health University and Pruitt Health of Savannah for the care that was giving.
