Virginia C. Kniphfer, born on June 21, 1957, transitioned on July 17, 2017 after a long, hard fought battle against several illnesses.
She is survived by her three girls, four grandchildren, caring ex-husband, sisters, brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
"Jenny", as she was affectionately known by family and friends was an amazing passionate, forgiving woman with a quick whit and temper, a way with words and a heart of gold. She was always willing to help anyone in anyway she could and often did. She was also fiercely protective of the ones she loved and had no problem serving up verbal vengeance if she felt is was needed.
She loved good conversation, music, all Atlanta sports teams (especially the Falcons) and her family. One of her favorite past times was watching football on Sundays with her girls and her grandchildren. They were her life and she spent life trying to make sure they were happy and knew how much they were loved. The people lucky enough to have called her friend or sister will miss her dearly. Those of us blessed to call her mom or grandma will never forget her fighting spirit or how strongly she loved us. She will be missed more than words can express...especially on Sundays.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 from 6pm to 8 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 20th, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Garden City Chapel, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey - East Cemetery.
