Tommie Gail Allen Osborne, age 68, of Savannah passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mrs. Osborne was born on January 20, 1954 in Brunswick, GA, the daughter of Tommy Allen and Evangelist Josie Mae Whitfield Allen Lawrence. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School and continued her formal education at Savannah State University, Cambridge College, Saint Leo University, Liberty University, and Walden University. She was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. She served in law enforcement with the City of Savannah Police Department and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department. She later served in bus transportation for the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Savannah Christian Preparatory School while subsequently serving as a “Blue Coat” at the Chatham County Courthouse. She was a longtime and active member of St. Paul CME Church where she sang in the choir and served as a Steward, a security guard, and was affiliated with CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship). She was also a member of the Savannah Branch of the NAACP; The Red Hat Ladies; Mt. Moriah Chapter No. 37, Order of the Eastern Star; Omar Court No. 91, Oasis of Savannah, Desert of Georgia; Daughters of Isis; Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority; American Legion-Post 500; and was a Liberty City Praise Dancer with Rebecca Wilson.

Mrs. Osborne was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Allen; sisters, Betty Allen Burgess- Gray and Francina Allen Branch; and brother-in-law, Vernon Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, James Osborne; son, Calvin E. Lowe, Jr.; daughter, Tawana C. Lowe; stepdaughter & son, Carol and Anthony Osborne and step grandchildren, Corey Thomas and Christina Osborne; siblings, Dr. Marie Allen Miller, Geraldine Clark, Mae Parks, Tommie James Allen, Andrew Allen, Willis Allen, and Dolphine Allen; grandchildren, Tabrielle Lowe, Yasmine Overstreet, and Patricia Lowe; great-grandchild, Robert Ward; sister-in-law, Vanessa King; brother-in-law, Alphonso Jackson; 4 nieces, 12 nephews, and 2 god-children.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Paul CME Church, 1601 Barnard Street, Savannah, GA 31401. Entombment will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Abbey East, 1600 Wheaton Street.
