Tommie Dorsey Fordham
Born Dec 23, 1944 to Hugh Dorsey Fordham and Vannie Rue Davis Fordham, left this world, as we know it, on Oct 25, 2018. He died in a tragic motorcycle accident in Tennessee. He joined the Legion in 1999, which he loved along with the many friends he also loved being with. Tommie was owner of Fordham Appliance Service for many years. He was also working at the American Legion Post # 135 on Bull St., as the Business Manager.Since joining the Legion in 1999, he made many friends he enjoyed being with.
Tommie served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He has been Past Commander for the Legion. He was also a Past Chef de GARE for the La Societe de Quarant et huit Cheverux (40 & 8). Past Grand Chef deGare for the State of Georgia, La Drapeau Nationate and La Cleminot Nationale, Charter member and Past District Director for Chapter 135 Legion Riders.
Most of all, he was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle and volunteering to do whatever was needed.
Survived by Tommie are his wife, Charlotte Allard Fordham, daughter Angela Hancock, granddaughter Shelby Hancock, stepson and wife, Christopher and Whitney Shuman, granddaughters, Abigail and Paige Shuman. Also survived by Tommie are his sisters, Jean Forkner (Lawrence), Roseann Williams (Charles); his brothers, Van Fordham (Linda), and Dorsey Fordham (Sandy), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Dorsey Fordham, Sr., mother, Vannie Rue Davis Fordham, and brother, Jeff Fordham.
The Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service at 1 :00 pm in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home. The Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West.
