Tom P. Kaighin (CW4 US Army, retired) 72, of Rincon, GA, passed away Monday July 23, 2018 at his home.
He served as a pilot in the US Army and retired with 27 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served several tours in Korea as well. Tom was awarded many medals to include the Soldier's Medal of Valor. He was a badass who was humble in his military experience.
He loved fishing and wood working. He was a craftsman. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden with his grandchildren. They knew him as PopPop. He loved to help people and had a heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Thomas and Gloria Bird Kaighin; brothers, Donald and Stephen.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Sandra Rebecca Kennedy Kaighin; son, Tommy Kaighin; daughter, Jennifer Kaighin-Porter (Clay); two grandchildren, Aislinn and Liam Porter; sister, Gloria Kaighin; cousin, Traci Domas; military brothers, Russ Whitney and Herb Cleveland. Much love to Carey Brinson, Robbie Brinson and families.
Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 29, 2018 at 2 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
