Thomas Henry Jacoby

Thomas H. Jacoby, 75, of Savannah died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Pruitt Health of Savannah.
A native of Illinois, he is the son of the late Lewis H. and Helen Turco Jacoby. Tom was a graduate of Lewis University where he received a BS Degree in Business Management. Through his working career he had been the President of the Gap Corporation, Vice President of Production and Eastern US Sales for National Electric Gate Company, Inc., Owner and CEO of Wood Wise Enterprise, Inc., a General Manager for Carolina Time Equipment, Inc. (dba) The Gate Arm Company. After retirement he was a Conductor for Old Town Trolley and was a Delivery Driver for Savannah Tire. He was elected and served the Des Plaines Elementary School Board District 62 from 1984-86.
Tom was a devout Catholic growing up in Catholic Schools and he was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He enjoyed Reading, Golf, Fishing and Rock Collecting.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Smego Jacoby; their children, Dawn Jolie and her husband Bob of New Hampshire, Wendy Stapleton and her husband John of Colorado; Vincent Jacoby and his wife Stacy of Savannah; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Stringfellow, Caden Jacoby, Avery Jacoby, Morgan Stapleton; 2 sisters, Lois Ann Jacoby of Illinois, Eileen Ackerman of Mississippi; 2 nieces, other family and friends.
A service to celebrate Tom's life will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
