Sybil Packer Formby, 86, passed away at Hospice Savannah on Friday, July 1, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Formby was born December 6, 1935 in Rome, GA, to the late Selven and Georgia Chandler Packer. She was the co-owner of Mr. Transmission alongside her husband Ronald Reese “Ron” Formby for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she served as a hostess, a former member of the choir, and member of the Chapel Bible Sunday school class. She was a member of the Shriner’s Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, old western and war movies, square dancing, and bowling. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, having attended games at all three fields over the years. Perhaps her most important role was being a caregiver to those that she loved and adored.
Mrs. Formby was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ronald Reese “Ron” Formby and her son, Keith Anthony Formby. Surviving are daughters, Vicki Formby Griner (Bernie) and Karen Formby Ross (Philip); son, Barry Reese Formby ; twin sister, Sylvia W. Hill; brother, Warner Selven Packer; grandchildren, Brendan Griner, Caroline Griner, Garrett Ross (Elizabeth), Jacob Ross (Susanne), Kristin Formby, Reese Formby; and great-grandchildren, Chyler, Stella, Lainey, and Emery.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hodgson Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
