Susan Long

November 8, 1956 — January 9, 2024

Susan Long was born on November 8, 1956 to the late Wyman Green and Geneva Green in Savannah, Georgia. Susan was married to Mark Long and was the mother to her two children- Joe (Jessica) Fell and Tabitha Fell. She was the grandmother to Perry (Erica) Bieber, Makala (Garrett) Owens, Keely Bieber, Jerrad Bieber, Dixie Fell and Brooke Fell. She also had her favorite title of Granny given to her by Meredith Owens, and Hunter and Winston Bieber. Susan had many nieces and nephews that she adored and loved as well. Susan was proceeded in death by her brother, Reggie Green, and sister, Kim Mincey. She is survived by her brother, Rusty Green and half-brother, Rick Green (Andrea).

Memaw was a badass best friend, getaway driver, bail bondsman, granny, aunt granny, runaway coordinator and confidant who wasn’t too secretive to many throughout her life, especially for the ones she loved. She lived a full life that was anything but conventional. When talking to Memaw about her life she would share many stories that tell exactly how adventurous she was. She shared how she would climb the local water supply tower to take a swim with friends as a child, traveled the country doing things she shouldn’t but had fun doing as a young adult- had so much fun doing these things would sometimes forgot all the details, finding new friends in the places you don’t usually find them all her life, and enjoying her time with family and friends smoking her funny cigarettes as much as she could in her later years. Memaw always sweared she was not a big fan of children, but anyone who knew her knew that any child brought around her would have a good time and would be loved regardless of where they came from. Through the many years of good times my Memaw had she ended life like she wanted- simple and loved while continuing to smoke the funny cigarettes. Memaw left us on January 9, 2024 at 3:40 in the morning and honestly she made it to Heaven to be with her sister and Jesus just in time to ensure that she could smoke her funny cigarettes at 4:20 peacefully. My Memaw wanted nobody to cry over her, but knew it would happen. She wanted her family to know how much she loved them, especially her favorite humans on Earth, her son, Joe and granddaughter, Meredith.
