Susan Ann Kass Dixon, 63, passed from this world and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2021.
A native of Dix Hill, New York, Susan resided in Savannah for over 40 years. Born April 5, 1957 to her late parents Paul B. and Mary F. Kass, Sue was a graduate of Commack High School, South. Upon moving to Savannah she attended Armstrong State University where she studied Criminal Justice. She was employed by Chatham County from September of 1981 until her retirement in April of 2004 where she served as Court Administrator of Magistrate Court. She was responsible for judicial, criminal and financial divisions of the court. She also worked on the Child Abuse Protocol Committee, The Coastal Empire Alliance Against Fraud, she handled business lunch education and TV appearances on behalf of the court and these organizations.
Susan was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister assisting in the distribution of Holy Communion to the congregation.
Susan is survived by her beloved son, Matthew Bradford Dixon, her sister, Geralyn Kass Abel, her brother, Paul G. Kass (Kim) and a host of loving nieces and nephews, as well as many sisters and brothers in law.
Susan was an avid lover of animals including her two cats and her parrot, Alex. She volunteered with One Love to help get animals adopted to good homes. She was also a volunteer with The Dolphin Project.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY when it is safe to do so.
