Steven Luke Lavely, 22, of Savannah passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 12th, 2022 at his home on Burnside Island, where he lived his entire short life. He was born on November 8th, 1999 to Steve and Janet Lavely. Luke’s friends would describe him as the person everyone wanted to be around. His personality was one that never went unnoticed. While attending Benedictine and Islands High School, he accumulated many friends and acquaintances who cared about him and all of them made a huge, positive impact in his life. He always wanted to make sure his loved ones never went without, and he would do anything anyone asked him to do. He was always around to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, even strangers. He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, the late Col. Calvin Elson Lavely. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Janet Lavely, his sisters, Abbey and Meghan (Anna) Lavely, his best friends (who were considered family to him) Parker Jennings, cousin Jackson Whitaker (Haley), Coleman Mowry, and his maternal grandparents Joe and Frances Warnock. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20th at Noon at Compassion Christian Church (East Campus). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East on Wheaton Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Luke's honor to Both Hands (bothhands.org) or Love One at Compassion Christian Church East.
