On July 4 th , 2023, Steve A. Reeves was set free from the bondage of this fallen world.
He was born in Savannah Georgia on July 21 st , 1938 as the third son to George and Claudia Reeves. As a graduate of Savannah High School, he went on to work for and retire from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Steve served in the Georgia Army National Guard and a long-time member of the Savannah Volunteer Guards.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Carlene Reeves; his children, Steve A. Reeves, Jr.; Jason & Stephanie Kerns and their five children, Caitlyn, Keelyn, Aislyn, Breelyn, and Liam who were the light of his life, and brought joy to his heart. Other relatives include John McDowell, brother-in-law; niece Alison Alexander (John Alexander) and their 5 boys; sister-in-law Gwen Reeves (Charlie) and sons; Tyler and Jill Woodson, children of his heart; and by Richard Hyde, his special friend and train buddy.
An avid model train and airplane enthusiast, Steve loved to share his collection with children and the young at heart and could be found at any train show that his wife would allow him to attend! His legacy of love for any who came to his door and his willingness to share of all he had with those in need will continue in the lives of everyone he touched.
Visitation will be Friday, July 7 th at 9:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel, with the Celebration of Life following immediately at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation to be made in his memory to Hospice of Savannah, who the family would like to say a special thanks to for the kind and supportive care in his last days.
