Stephen Marion Hartley

Stephen Marion Hartley, 63, of Pooler, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at his residence.

He was born in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High in 1974. He then extended his education and graduated from Armstrong State College with a Bachelor's Degree. He was formerly President of local chapter Pi Kappa Phi, coached little league baseball. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. He was a lifelong member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church now called Life Church at Ardsley Park, and was formerly Chairman of the Board of Deacons at the Church.

Steve felt like God called him to found the Spirit Newspaper to reach people for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Allison W. Hartley, and his parents, Marion and Hazel Hartley.

He is survived by two sons, Stephen I. Hartley, and Kevin M. Hartley (Emily), he is survived by 3 stepdaughters, Lyric Cross, Landon Aultman (Barry), and Allary Castro; 9 grandchildren.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Ardsley Park Baptist Church (Life Church), with Rev. John Tillman, and Rev. Kenny Grant, officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwich Cemetery.
