Stanley Israel Bond, III, age 67, of Savannah passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Mr. Bond was born in Savannah on November 27, 1957, the son of Stanley Israel Bond, Jr. and Bessie Annette Bond. He was a 1976 graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School and continued his formal education at Armstrong State College. Stanley worked with Georgia Power for 43 years and was serving as a Field Meter Tech until his health declined. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was previously a member of Bible Baptist Church. Outside of work he refereed and coached for several sports organizations in Savannah. He enjoyed Walt Disney World and visited there 23 times during his life. Above all, he loved serving his church and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bond is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Melissa Rhodes Bond; son, Stanley Israel “Sonny” Bond, IV (Amie); daughter, Sarah Gwendolyn Bond; brother, Chris Bond (Marcia); sister, Sandy Bond; and grandchildren, Chandler, Claire, Charli, Salvatore, and Angelo.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Greenwich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
