Shirley W. Fountain

Shirley W. Fountain, age 80, of Savannah passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at her home.
Mrs. Fountain was born on November 13, 1942 in Douglas, GA, the daughter of the late Cecil Webster Williams and Mary Howard Williams. Shirley was raised in Savannah and was a 1961 graduate of Savannah High School. She continued her formal education at Draughons Business College. She had a successful career in banking, serving as the President of the Savannah Seaboard Credit Union and the Memorial Health Credit Union where she retired. She served on the board of the National Credit Union Administration and was a longtime member of Ferguson Avenue Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed reading, studying the history of Savannah, and cooking for her family.
Mrs. Fountain is survived by her sons, Charles Maurice Fountain, II (Angela Sheets) and John Corey Fountain (Heather); sister, Janice Donaldson (Jimmy); grandchildren, Virginia, Chas, Molly, and Luke; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family request remembrances be made to CURE Childhood Cancer, 200 Ashford Center North, Ste 250, Atlanta, GA 30338.
