Sherry Delores Slater

Sherry Delores Foskey Slater, 69, of Bloomingdale, Georgia passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at her home.

A native of Swainsboro, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Morris Foskey and the late Velma Ree Wheeler Foskey.

Over the years, Sherry worked for the Chatham County Superior Court as a Court Clerk and also worked at J T Turner Construction. She was a wife and mother and loved her family. She was an avid Golfer, enjoyed reading, dancing, going to the beach and singing. Most importantly, she was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and imparted her faith to her two sons. She went to great lengths to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for her family. She always put her family before herself. She was strong and spirited, and persevered through personal challenges. Her life mirrored her beliefs and her faith; she made the world a better place for all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Leonard Dale Slater, children, Blake "Buster" McMillan (Kelly), Jason McMillan (Tianna), Beth Claybrook (Cory), Sarah Flowers, and grandchildren, Abigail, Peyton, Thomas, Maddox, Ethan, Camren, Carlee, Caiden, Tayler, her 2 fur babies, Coalman Tanner and Candy Apple Carmen, siblings, Jenny Garner (Gary), Johnny Foskey (Sharon), Laura Caroll, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Dean Forest Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Terrance "Terry" Mulvehill officiating.
