Sharon Diane Bennett

Sharon Bennett, age 81, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 in South Carolina.
Sharon was born in Long Branch, New Jersey to the parents of Juanita and Hugh Starling. They later moved to Savannah, Georgia where she attended Jenkins High School. Christmas Eve of 1958, Sharon married her High School sweetheart, Joseph Cleveland Bennett. Together they raised four children. After her husband passed, she carried out their dream by purchasing a house in Sun City and settling down.
Sharon was a strong Christian woman. She enjoyed gardening so much that she turned her hobby into a business. She grew aquatic plants and sold them to many local businesses. Sharon was family oriented and loved not only her grandchildren but her great grandchildren.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cleveland Bennett; her parents, Hugh Starling, and Juanita Jones Starling; and her sister, Jackie Knight.
She is survived by her four children, Tammy Hanson (Mike), Gerald Bennett, Joseph “Joby” Bennett Jr., Kerry “Randy” Bennett; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Sheila (John); and one brother, Darron Starling (Brenda)
The family will be receiving friends Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon in our Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
Interment will be held at Greenwich Cemetery, 330 Greenwich Road, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
