Sara Mock Young

Sara Mock Young, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 following a long illness.  Born in Screven County, Georgia on March 4, 1926, to the late Lee Holmes Mock and Ruby Lee Hutchinson, she lived most of her life in Pooler.

Mrs. Young was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Buell Young, a dear sister, Margaret Wells and a sister-in-law, Virginia Bacon.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy Phelps of Plymouth, North Carolina, Jackie Carver (Jerry) of Pooler, Georgia, Bobbie Collis (Terry) of Lake Oconee, Georgia; a son, Larry Young (Holly) of Pooler, Georgia; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Margie Jacques, Judy Smart, Regina Lester & Beth Powell and also the staff at Hospice of Savannah for their kind and compassionate care.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Fairhaven Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Neese officiating.

Burial will be private at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
