Sara Ann Browning

Sara Ann "Nana" Browning, age 85, born Sara Ann Harrell on July 7, 1938, in Swainsboro, Georgia, passed away on April 18, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Sara was known for her warm and loving nature, always making friends wherever she went.

Sara was a graduate of Commercial High School Class of 1956. She was a cherished member of Bonny Bridge Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, where she found solace and community. She had worked at the L&A Supermarket and the Ace Hardware in Port Wentworth and at Delta Trucking.

She is survived by her children John Browning (Valerie), Paula Hennessy, Neal Browning (Tammie), Kim Foran (Pat), 9 grandchildren, Jason Love, Brian Love (Ashley), Shawn Love, Sarah Hennessy, Chrissy Alford (Garrett), Tracy Burnsed (Lacee), Brooke Browning, Brittany Dixon (Chad), Kaitlyn Jackson (Ginny), 10 great-grandchildren, McKenna, Marley, Roman, Fallon, Jack, Grace, Brooklyne, Braelyne, Haven and Brogan, several nieces, and nephews..

Sara was preceded in death by her husband Paul N. Browning, sister Milli Jo Jernigan, mother Mildred Harrell, father Charlie Harrell, son-in-law Frankie Shuman, and son-in-law Mark Hennessy.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, 2794 US Highway 80 West, Garden City, Georgia. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, with Rev. Dan Hall officiating. The entombment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Memorial Park Crematory Mausoleum.

Sara “Nana" will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory and love will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
