Sandra Matlock Wiggins, born November 8, 1944 in Savannah, Georgia, passed away on February 17, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles Moore Matlock and Mable Robbins Matlock, her sister, Charlene Crawford, and brother, Jimmy Groover. She is survived by her brother, Bud Matlock (Cheryl), her children, Larry Wiggins (Hollie) and April Cullen (Tom), and her grandchildren, Jon Wiggins (Jade), Hannah Cullen and Megan Cullen, her great-grandchild, Landon Wiggins, and many nieces and nephews.

The joys of her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, embarrassing them, playing games with them and watching them grow into amazing men and women.

She graduated from Savannah High School, Class of 1962, and attended Armstrong State College. She worked at Southern Nitrogen, Armstrong State College and retired from Gulfstream after 30 years.

She was a member of the American Professional Women, a member of Gulfstream’s Management Association and served on many non-profit boards. She was very involved with her church, Islands Christian Church, and volunteered with and led many non-profit organizations.

She loved her little rescue dog, Dolly. They spent lots of time together.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Summit Cancer Care, Hospice Savannah and the wonderful nurses, friends and family members who took care of her.

A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at a later date, where those who knew her will gather to share memories and honor her legacy.
