On January 6, 1961, the Lord blessed John and Marie Meadows with a beautiful baby girl who they named Sandra. She was the fifth of seven children. Sandra was reared in Savannah, Georgia, educated by the Chatham County Public School System graduating from Sol C. Johnson High School in 1979. She earned a Culinary Arts degree from the Savannah Culinary Arts Institute of Savannah Technical College in 2004.
At an early stage in life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Nathaniel Smalls Sr.
On April 24,2023, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, and Confidant was called home from labor to eternal rest.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Meadows; brothers, John, Jessie, Lucius and Theodore Meadows; granddaughter, Altonise Jones; and special, friend Tom Jones Jr.
Sandra leaves to cherish her memories three beloved daughters, Tarasha A. Jones of Savannah, GA., Rosetta Myers of Savannah, GA, and Ineshia Pringle of Jacksonville, Fl.; two loving sons, Marjoram Jones of Savannah, GA. and Jimmie Myers Jr. of Savannah, GA; and two sisters, Shirley Royal-Gordon of Atlanta, GA, and Pamela Meadows of Savannah, GA. She also leaves a host of beautiful grandchildren, one great- granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
A funeral service will begin after visitation at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery, 330 Greenwich Road, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
