Eternal Light

Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight...
Must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light.  But we know that like a candle their lovely light will surely shine to brighten up another place more perfect... more divine. And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright. Our loved ones live forevermore in God's eternal light.

On Saturday morning, November 4, Sandra M. Baker went home to be with her Lord Jesus.  Born December 7, 1938, in Elim, South Carolina to Sanders and Margie Bacot.  She was the third of four children, and the only girl.  Sandra married the love of her life on December 29, 1959 and, having never been outside the state of South Carolina, began a twenty-four year adventure as a military wife; From Maine to Georgia to Texas to Mississippi to Maryland with four children born along the way.  After his retirement from the military, she and her husband settled in Savannah where she lived until her death.

She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and a very proud grandma to eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Her love of the Lord and family was evident in everything she did.  She loved holidays and family time together; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She had a love for people, especially children, and a heart for teaching them about Jesus. For over 54 years, she worked in preschool and children's ministry teaching in Sunday School, VBS, preschool and other areas, many of them at Windsor Forest Baptist Church where she had been a member for almost forty years.

Beloved wife of the late Archie Z. (Sonny) Baker. Much loved mother of Cindy (Scott) Pinholster, Margie (Ronald) Canady, Terry (Shawn) Baker, Gary (Dutchen) Baker and "Grandma" of Rebecca (Stephen) Ashley, Kyle (Fallin) Canady, Sonny (David) Noble, Samantha Canady, Abbey Baker, Caitlyn Baker, Mackenzie Baker, Lauren Baker, and great "Grandma" of Dylan Noble, Ethan Ashley, Turner Noble, Sadie Canady, and Ellie Ashley.  Loving sister to William Bacot(Rose), late Jimmy Bacot(Rhett), and Ted Bacot (Judy).

She leaves behind a legacy of love and family.
