Sandra Jane Evans Love of Savannah, Georgia, affectionately known as "Bama" to her family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 82. Sandra was born in Anniston, Alabama, on Wednesday, August 5, 1942, to Harry Hubert Harry Evans Sr. and Hilda Elizabeth Jett Evans.
She was a cherished homemaker, dedicating her life to her family and creating a loving home filled with joy and warmth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Demery Love, her daughter, Amanda Jane Love Phillips, and her brothers, Hubert Harry “Pete” Evans, Jr., and William "Billy" Joseph Evans.
During her early years, she lived on Fort Benning while her husband served in the military. Sandra was deeply involved with the Alee Shriners, attending numerous events and forming lifelong friendships. She was also an avid traveler, visiting many countries with her family and friends, collecting cherished memories along the way.
Her love and legacy continue through her surviving family: her devoted sons, Michael (Amanda) Love and Mark (Diane) Love, both of Savannah. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Michelle (Ben) Hodge, Adalyn (Robert) Burns, Brandon Harden, all of Savannah, Wayne Phillips III and Michael Phillips of Bloomingdale, and Arieana Love of Greensboro, NC. Sandra was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Hunter Richardson of Savannah and Elizabeth Little of Erie, PA. Her sisters, Julia Orr and Martha Faye Love of Savannah, survive her as well.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Sandra's memory will be held on February 15, 2025, at 2 PM at the Montgomery Athletic Association, located at 10155 Ferguson Ave., Savannah, GA 31406. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Sandra are warmly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that remembrances be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, an organization close to Sandra's heart, at lovetotherescue.org.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
