Sandra Elise Stanley Landing, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on Friday, September 7th, 1945, in Savannah, Georgia, Sandra led a life characterized by devotion to her family and an unyielding love for the simple joys of life.
Sandra was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Douglas Dean Landing, Sr., and her loving parents, Thomas Benjamin Stanley and Elise Cordele Stanley. Her legacy lives on through her family, including her sons Douglas "Doug" D Landing, Jr. (Bonnie) and Dennis D Landing. She is also survived by her treasured grandsons, Danny E Landing and Brandon L Landing (Shelby), and her beloved great-grandchildren, Bryce Landing and LeeAnne Stokes. Sandra's memory will also be cherished by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
Throughout her life, Sandra was a dedicated homemaker, finding joy and fulfillment in her role as a caregiver within her own home and family. Her passions extended beyond family life; she was an avid fan of country music and had a profound appreciation for the outdoors, spending many peaceful moments watching wildlife. A true NASCAR and Xfinity series enthusiast, Sandra found exhilaration in the thrill of racing.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sandra's life and legacy on Saturday, December 7th, 2024. A visitation will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the same location. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Clyo, GA.
Sandra's warmth, generosity, and love will be forever remembered by those she leaves behind. As we gather to honor her life, we remember a woman whose heart was as big as the sky she loved to watch and whose spirit now races on to eternal peace.
