Sandra Elizabeth Atkinson

Sandra Elizabeth Atkinson, beloved resident of Savannah, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born in Savannah on Tuesday, May 27th, 1941 to Benjamin Franklin Atkinson and Doris Elizabeth Hall Atkinson, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sandra was a faithful member of Silk Hope Baptist Church where she played the Piano, was a leader of the WMU, and was part of the Pairs and Spares travel group. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed writing. Sandra graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in 1959.

Sandra was the Music Director for the chapel at Rivers Edge Retirement where she lived for 12 years before moving to Sunabella Senior Living.

She is survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Elizabeth Ray Lewis, of Rincon, GA. Sandra will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at Silk Hope Baptist Church on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on the same day.

Rest in peace, Sandra. Your memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved you.
