Sadie Lee Cook Beaupre

Mrs. Sadie Lee Cook Beaupre, passed from this earth into her heavenly father’s arms on December 1, 2024. Born Cuthbert, Georgia (Randolph County) on December 25, 1936 as the daughter of the late Aubrey Lee Cook and Ida Phillips Cook. She was a member of the Windsor Forest Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lecroy Sunday School Class and the Senior Sunshiners. She later became a member of Burkhalter Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She began her Eastern Star journey in the Hampton, South Carolina Lodge. From there she transferred to the Ridgeland, South Carolina chapter number 124. Upon moving to Savannah, Georgia she joined the Bethlehem chapter number 269 in Garden City, Georgia. She moved from Leesburg, Georgia to Pineland, South Carolina in 1962. She began a career with the United States Postal Service in 1968. She became a part time clerk at Pineland, South Carolina before transferring to Garnett, South Carolina. In 1975 she was transferred back to Pineland, South Carolina as Post Master. After twenty-four years with the United States Postal Service she retired in 1992, to enjoy her life with her loving and devoted husband Johnny of forty-two years. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed a beautiful garden and flowers. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother,grandmother, great-grandmother,

She is preceded in death by a son, Charles Aubrey Strickland; her parents; three brothers; one sister; two step-daughters; and a step-grandson. 

Left to cherish wonderful memories are her husband of forty-two years, Johnny Alfred Beaupre, Sr. of Summerville, South Carolina; two daughters, Cynthia Fam and husband George of Charleston, South Carolina and Alesia Burns and husband Gene of Summerville, South Carolina; one grandson, Daniel Bilton III; two grandchildren, Jaiyden and Grayson of Summerville, South Carolina; one step-daughter, Melodie Criswell; two step-sons, Johnny Alfred Beaupre, Jr. and wife, Joyce and Mike Beaupre and wife Patricia; and several other step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406). The funeral service will follow at 12 noon, in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home with burial to follow at Steep Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery in Estill, South Carolina.
