Ruth Tucker

Ruth Diane Tucker, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Savannah Square in Savannah, Georgia. By her side was her husband of 55 years, Ray Bryant Tucker.

Ruth was born on October 7, 1934 in Washington, DC to Rose and Golden Hollister. Following her studies at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, Ruth pursued a career as an educator in Ohio, California, and Maryland, where she met Ray. They were married on November 25, 1961.

Ruth is survived by her husband and three daughters, Diane, Lisa, and Laura. Ruth's passion for music led to her active participation in church choir for over 75 years. She was also an avid traveler, having visited 40 countries across six continents with her husband.

A memorial service followed by a visitation with the family will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel at 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406 at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Ascension at 6 East State Street, Savannah, Georgia 31401 for the Renovation Fund.
