Ruth Sabine Harrison, born on September 24, 1918, passed away on December 19, 2016 at Hospice House of Savannah. Ruth was from Syracuse, NY, and moved to Savannah, GA, eight years ago to live with her daughter. She was born to the late Lindley A. and Hazel Sabine in Syracuse, NY. She was the oldest of four siblings, which have all preceded her in death: Robert S. Sabine, Marjorie Sabine Davis, and Marilyn Sabine Denesha.
Ruth is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Hughes Hinson, and her granddaughter, Pamela Schneider. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gene Schneider (Elaine),Shelly Kelly McKenzie (Marty), David Kelly, and Scott Schneider (Jill).
She had eleven great-grandchildren and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth retired from General Electric in Syracuse, NY, where she worked for 31 years in Drafting and Tracing. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, NY. She was involved in the United Methodist Women. She has also been a member of the American Legion for 37 years.
Ruth loved her family and friends and always tried to look at the good in everyone. She was a hard worker, had a good sense of humor, and enjoyed traveling with her friends.
Gramma Ruth was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
