Ineko "Ruby" Peace, age 91, of Savannah passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Mrs. Peace was born February 15, 1931 in Sapporo, Japan to the late Fumio Tanaka and the Yasuko Sati Tanaka. Prior to retiring, she was a sales clerk for many years, working at Belks and Homegoods. She was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wiley Peace; daughters, Beverly Swailes and Joan Gordon; and her brother, Yoshio Tanaka.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Powell; son and daughter-in-law, William and Margaret Peace; brother, Yoshi Tanaka; sister, Buchan; six grandchildren, Ginger (Jay) Blake, Jimmy (Lindsay) Powell, Jr., Glenn (Kristin) Powell, Steven (Christin) Swailes, Billy King, and Joy Swailes; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah (7215 Sallie Mood Dr, Savannah, GA 31406).
