Roy "Edwiena" Kubiak, 89, of Savannah, Georgia passed away May 1, 2022 at St. Joseph's hospital.
Edwiena grew up in Bulloch County and then moved to Savannah to start her working career in accounting, in which she excelled. She remained in this field until her retirement. Her other "career" was bowling which spanned over 60 years where she made many friends. She was very active in her league as treasurer. Her other love was the Georgia Southern Eagles football team and was present at most home games cheering the team. She remained very active in her later years with yoga, line-dancing, and church activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund "Ed" A. Kubiak; sister, M. Claudette Akins; and her parents, Brooks Leroy and Eleanor Parker Akins.
She is survived by many cousins with whom she remained close. She also leaves behind to miss her dearly, the many friends she made over the years.
Life will not be the same without her.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 5, 2022 from 5-7pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive. Funeral Services will be held Friday May 6, 2022 at 10am at White Bluff Presbyterian Church 10710 White Bluff Road with Rev. Kathi Parchem officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
