Robert "Bobby" Charles Hawkins, 72, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Candler Hospital.
A native of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Bobby was the son of the late Robert C. Hawkins, Sr. and the late Rachel Faulk Hawkins.
He enlisted and served in United States Army from November 1968 to February 1972 during Vietnam and was Honorably discharge at the rank of E-4 Specialist U.S. Army; a recipient of many awards and medals including: Purple Heart Recipient Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 device, 2 Overseas Bars, Expert w/ M-14 rifle medal and Expert w/ M-16 rifle medal. Bobby served as a law enforcement officer in Chatham and Effingham counties from 1973 to 1994, served as private investigator from 1995 to 1998, served as a bounty hunter from 1999 to 2010. He enjoyed racing and served as a race car driver for Emmett Motor Sports for four years.
Survivors include his wife, Elfriede Ingird Hawkins, children, Robert Arren King, Sandra Lynn Hawkins Gowan, Charles Edward Hawkins, Matthew Wheeler Hawkins, Andreas Steven Wilson, Jerry Gerhard Wilson, Angela Faye Linton, brother, George Hawkins, sister, Rose Rinkle, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Bobby was a man of GOD his entire life, there was never a person that he couldn’t befriend, always loved to help others when in need. Bobby will be greatly missed by his loved ones as he is in GOD’s hands now!
