Robert "Bob" Neil Sinclair, age 72, of Savannah, Georgia passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 after a short Illness.
Bob was born in Ocilla, Georgia on January 13, 1951 to the parents of Eva P. and Amos J. Sinclair. After graduation, Bob served in the United States Army until he was called home to take care of his family. Bob took care of his father who became very sick and later passed. Bob went on to work for the City of Savannah as a Firefighter. He also spent time working for the Sheriff's Department and Army Guards.
Bob loved his family and friends and took pride in helping the less fortunate. He was always a big part of so many people's lives. He enjoyed rafting, and being on the water sailing. However, he absolutely loved playing Santa Claus. Bob would go to Costa Rica to play Santa to the many children he started off in the orphanages and it grew from there. He mentored a lot of younger ones. Here in Savannah, Bob was the founder of the, "Old Goats Parties". The fundraiser that started in his mothers backyard grew into an annual event that went on to fill locations like Spanky's, the Alee Temple, and the German Country Club.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Amos J. Sinclair; his mother, Eva P. Sinclair; his sister, Dorthy Gifford; his brother, Tommy Sinclair; his nephew, Brandon Sinclair; and his grandmother, Annie Mae Vaughn.
Bob is survived by his brothers, Jack Sinclair, and Fred Sinclair; his sister, Nancy Derussy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday, January 13, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral homes Hodgson Memorial Chapel.
