Robert Ray Johnson, 74, of Savannah, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Joseph-Candler Hospital after being surrounded by his family.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Washington County and a member of the first graduating class of Groves High School. He was an active member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and of the Alpha Sunday School Class.
He was a member of Southbridge Golf Club, Alee Temple, the Scottish Rite Consistery, Valley of Savannah, and a Past Master of his beloved Solomon's Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M.'s.

He was the owner and operator of Ray Johnson, Inc. from which he retired in 2006. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, traveling, golfing, singing, and gardening. He was known for his grilled ribs and smoked meats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ruth Johnson, and his sisters, Catherine Sample and Sandra Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Harriet Minus Johnson of Savannah; three daughters and son-in-laws Diane and Bo Cook of Springfield, Pamela and Calvain Culberson of Savannah, and Angela and Jim Creasy of Roswell; his beloved grandchildren, Bailey and Robert Cook, Matthew and Brandon Culberson, and Stuart, Abigail, and Caroline Creasy; his brother Otis C. Johnson of Marietta; his sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Reg Dees of Port Wentworth; mother-in-law, Hazel T. Minus; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Brenda and David White; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Ben Martin, pastor of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances: Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, or Solomon's Lodge No. 1, F. & A.M.'s.
