Robert Deen Tomberlin Sr.,76, of Savannah died Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
A native of Baxley, Georgia , he was the son of Emory Tomberlin and Lillie Deen Tomberlin. He was a fabricator with Great Dane. He was a fanatic racing fan, drove race cars for a while, then was part of the pit crew. Bill Elliot, Joey Lagano and Tony Stewart were among his favorites. He loved his children and his grandchildren were his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Deen "Robbie" Tomberlin, Jr., his brother David Tomberlin.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Enfinger Tomberlin of Savannah, his daughters, Nina "Baby Girl" Watson (Larry) of Bloomingdale, Linda "Winnie" Jaworski of Faulkville, Karen Brown of Brinson, Dolores "The Kid" Sanders (Thomas) of Bloomingdale, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his brother, John Tomberlin of Savannah, and a number of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C Baker Chapel. Interment will be later in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
