Ricky Eugene White

Ricky E. White, an independent commercial truck driver and life-long resident of Eden, GA, died unexpectedly on December 18, 2017 at the age of 52 at his home.
Ricky is survived by his parents, J.R. and Jo Ann White of Eden; his son and best friend, Jarrod Ross White of Eden; his sister, Sherri (Donnie) Roach of Eden; his brother, Bruce (Johnna) White of Port Wentworth; his nephew, D.J. (Ellie) Roach of Guyton; his niece, Montgomery White of Port Wentworth; great-nieces, Mayleigh, Millie, and Hadleigh Roach all of Guyton; and the love of his life Tina Hodges of Eden.
Ricky was born in Baxley, GA on March 12, 1965 to J.R. and Jo Ann White. He graduated from Effingham County High School in 1983. During high school, Ricky played for the Rebel baseball team. He was the only freshman on the varsity baseball squad, and later became the co-captain of the Rebel team his junior year. After graduation, Ricky became a commercial truck driver, driving for the old M&M Supermarkets in Savannah. Later, he left M&M and became a long distance trucker working with his father. He finally settled into a career of transporting containers from Georgia Ports Authority for the last 18 years of his life. He was a natural diesel mechanic who always maintained both his and his father's rigs throughout his years as a driver.
Ricky was always generous and kind hearted. He didn't mind helping others by fixing their cars. He loved animals, his family, and Tina. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
The funeral service for Ricky will be held at Baker McCullough in Garden City Thursday, December 21 at 11:00 in the Chapel with the burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey on Dean Forest Rd. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6 until 8 pm.
