Rebecca "Becky" Stokes Tapp of Savannah died Friday at her residence on June 10, 2016 at the age of 76. Becky was born in Evansville, Indiana and graduated high school in 1957 from Valley High School in Valley Station, Kentucky. At a young age, Becky had a dream of becoming a nurse and won a scholarship for her essay on "Why Should I Be a Nurse." In 1961, she graduated from John N. Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing in Louisville, Kentucky. After 42 years, Becky retired from nursing and moved to Georgia to be close to family and friends. She was formerly a member of the Red Hat Society and a former volunteer at several Senior Citizen Centers in the surrounding areas. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was often referred to as "Moms" by many.

Becky is survived by her son, Eric Tapp, his wife, Lory and two grandsons, Austin Tapp and Adam Tapp, of Chesapeake, Virginia. She was predeceased by her son, John Tapp, who is survived by his wife, Lisa and son, Austin J. Tapp, of Savannah. She has one surviving brother, Tom E. Stokes of Crestwood, Kentucky and a sister, Elizabeth Gatewood of Poseyville, Indiana and was predeceased by her parents, Thomas E. Stokes, Sr. and Elizabeth Stokes of Hendersonville, Kentucky and a brother, Richard Stokes of Barnesville, Georgia.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, 2794 Hwy 80, Garden City. Memorial Service to immediately follow.
