Randall Eric Collins Sr., age 68, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 after his courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born in Savannah, Georgia to the parents of J.C. and Ethel Rogers Collins. Randy met the love of his life Sheryl McCallar through a friend. Sheryl thought they were all just going “dutch”. However, Randy had different plans. In fact, he told his friend Mark he was going to marry her that same night. Randy and Sheryl had two sons together and were married for thirty eight years. As a husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend; Randy was a light to be around. His smile, kind words of encouragement and positivity towards life was inspiring.
Randy was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church for over 40 years. He loved Our Lord Jesus Christ. He volunteered as a Greeter, he was a member of the Choir, and he was well known to the younger congregation as, “The Candy Man.” He loved giving out mints out to the ladies in the choir and the children. Randy never missed a Sunday at church. Even through treatment, and losing the ability to walk, Randy found a way to attend and continue to smile.
